Changes to dining
With much anticipation and following the UK Government guidelines as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, 1935 Rooftop Bar & Restaurant has been given the green light to re-open.
Things may look a bit different for a while but we are still committed to offering a high level of service with a warm welcome and a smile.
In line with government legislation, it is now mandatory to wear a face-covering in all public spaces within our hotel to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Guests are not required to wear a face covering when eating or drinking within the hotel, however a face covering should be worn to and from the table. Children under 11 and those with health issues are exempt from wearing a face-covering.
Our safety measures
The bar & restaurant have been configured to abide by the 1m+ rule and meet all social distancing guidelines.
Our team will be wearing face visors going forward to keep both you and them as safe as possible.
Maximum group sizes will be limited to six people, unless they live in the same household or are in a support bubble.
Booking your table with us
To control the number of people that we have in the restaurant at one time, we have limited the number of bookings we are taking.
This enables us to stagger the flow of customers, ensuring that everyone remains socially distant and that the tables and chairs can be thoroughly cleaned before use.
A limited all-day dining menu and daily specials menu will be available from 12.00pm – 9.30pm Monday to Saturday (8.30pm on Sundays) in the Rooftop Bar which sits alongside the restaurant.
The restaurant will remain closed, however, guests can dine in the Rooftop Bar with the same amazing views over the runway of London Southend Airport. Please note that it’s table service only. Guests cannot order from the bar counter.
