We host birthday, engagement and anniversary parties, proms and graduation celebrations, charity galas and fundraisers, baby showers, christenings and naming ceremonies, celebrations of life, Masonic ladies festivals, weddings, commercial filming, and more.

Spaces & Capacities

Which function rooms are available and what are their capacities?

  • Laker Suite — suitable for large events, up to 175 guests
  • Laker Lounge — ideal for smaller, more intimate celebrations
  • Ambassador, Britannia & Carvair Suites, Executive Lounge — flexible options for intimate events (exact capacities vary; ask our team)
  • 1935 Rooftop Restaurant & Bar — available for certain daytime/lunch events or smaller groups.

What’s included for prom or graduation events?
Proms typically use the Laker Suite (up to 120 guests) and can include a dance floor, dedicated bar, LCD projector & screen, black starlight curtains, and a private arrivals lounge. Optional LED “PROM” letters and DJ can be added (charges apply)


Packages, Pricing & Inclusions

Do you offer party packages? What’s the price?
Yes. Our Party Package (2025/2026) includes exclusive private room hire, black‑and‑white chequered dance floor, finger buffet for 50 guests*, black LED star curtains, complimentary accommodation for the host, special guest room rates, and free on‑site parking.
Prices from: £1,100 (2025) | £1,150 (2026). Menu can be customised.

Can I upgrade or personalise my event?
Absolutely. Popular upgrades include photobooth, DJ (7pm–midnight), doughnut cart, and more. Speak with our Events Team to tailor your night.

Self‑Catering Option

Can I bring my own catering?
Yes, our Self‑Catering Event Hire offers flexibility to curate your own menu while using our facilities for reheating/regeneration (e.g., regeneration ovens, fridges, workstations). It’s a cost‑effective way to personalise your event.

Are there restrictions on self‑catering?
Self‑catering is designed for reheating/regeneration rather than full onsite cooking; please discuss specifics (equipment use, timings, food safety requirements) with the Events Team.


AV, Décor & Event Support

What AV and décor are available?
Depending on the room and event type, we can provide a dance floor, projector & screen, starlight curtains, table plans/place cards/menu cards for formal events, and guidance on entertainment (e.g., DJ, children’s entertainment).

Will I have an events manager?
Yes, a dedicated events manager will work with you on layouts, décor, timelines, and vendor coordination to ensure everything runs smoothly.


Arrival, Parking & Accessibility

Is there onsite parking?
Yes—over 200 onsite parking spaces are available, with free parking included within certain event packages.

How accessible is the hotel via public transport?
We’re a short walk from Southend Airport train station, with direct connections to London Liverpool Street and Stratford

Baby showers, christenings & naming ceremonies: What are the options?
Choose from function rooms (intimate to 175 guests), private dining rooms in the 1935 Rooftop Restaurant, and catering such as afternoon tea or buffets. We can help arrange children’s entertainment and décor

Proms: Do you offer show‑arounds for committees?
Yes—prom committees are invited to a Royal Prom Show‑around; contact our Events Team to book

Celebration of life: What support is available?
We provide respectful, customisable packages with afternoon tea or finger buffet options, elegant table flowers, unlimited tea & coffee, and suitable spaces (e.g., Laker Suite, Executive Lounge, 1935 Rooftop Restaurant).
