On Sunday 3rd April we had our annual Southend Wedding Show and what a day it was!
We are now following up all of our new Wedding enquiries from all of our beautiful couples!
What was the day like?
We wanted the wedding fair to be free and available to all. We connected with fantastic local wedding suppliers and offered them a space at the event so they too could help couples plan the most amazing day of their life.
We were delighted when we opened the event at 11.00am to see a queue out the door of the hotel. People waited in anticipation to register, get their goodie bags and peruse all the wedding stalls that were dotted around the hotel. The goodie bags went down a treat – thanks to Taylormade, Sweet Occasions, Lush Lakeside and Bean and boy for providing such great treats for all the couples who came. With over 250 guests visiting throughout the day; we offered canapes & Prosecco on arrival, and the hotel was a hive of activity with people staying to enjoy lunch in our 1935 Rooftop Restaurant and drinks in our 1935 Rooftop Bar.
We really have to say a MASSIVE thank you to Tony from Eternity Events Essex who, as always, played a blinder on the day. Tony had been here since Saturday evening setting up all of the microphones, DJ system, dancefloor and uplighters on the day. Along with his lovely daughter Paige, who is only 13 years old, who was such a helping hand! Tony really is the nicest guy in the world and we would highly recommend him for your DJ & Equipment hire needs. Tony offers the most beautiful white starlight dancefloor too and we are so proud to offer his services as our Resident DJ. We guarantee he will get all your guests up and on the dance floor!!
Sue Bride, our Wedding Host also spoke about the hotel’s wedding packages. Guests heard about the great value wedding packages on offer from as little as £1,499 for 50 guests and heard about all the latest trends that the hotel team have encountered while planning weddings.
Hayley O’Connell, our events executive, just back from maternity leave, gave everyone a detailed show round of the venue and stalls with what we as a hotel have to offer for your big day!
Jaye Tucker, our new events coordinator was tasked with organising her first ever wedding fair, contacting all of the suppliers. On the day she coordinated all of the stalls, ensuring they were all set up ion time and liaised with everyone to ensure we got nice pictures of the event.
With canapes on arrival we wanted to give a taste of what our amazing chefs can do. Picking the perfect menu will leave a lasting impression and set the scene for the rest of the day. That is why here at the Holiday Inn Southend we plan our wedding menu’s meticulously, take a look at the menus we can provide here. A big thank you goes to Wedding Flower Stores and Laceys Event Services who both decorated our wedding suite beautifully.
